COMPETITION FOR THE RESOURCES. MKALI AND MWANGA – FEEDING TIME

04/29/2020

When the amount of food is limited, cheetah males in a coalition (even siblings) conflict over it, and try to protect a kill from the encroachments of any animals that they can drive away. When a cheetah is full, it can calmly watch other animals fight over the remnants of its prey. Yesterday, two males – Mkali (Bright) and Mwanga (Light) managed to get two adult males of Thomson’s gazelle and after eating the second kill, they watched a fight between two jackals with a third and with vultures waiting for their turn to eat.
